Set Mama: Music Videos
We filmed a quick music video today. For those that don't know my little history, before I became a mama I was strictly a singer, performer and song writer. I've been in the entertainment business for about 18 years now. My husband is also in the industry and he's working on some new music, we have a new song together. We filmed for it today, we took Malakai along.
Since I practice attachment parenting, Malakai is rarely without me or my attention for that matter, for long periods of time other than the occasional date night. His behavior changes dramatically when I do things like record or film, it's like he wants me all to himself. Today was no exception. I would shoot, he whined. We filmed longer and it turned into a full blown tantrum. Obviously, this can be very stressful for both of us and I'm assuming whoever is around us.
I'm not going to lie, his behavior sometimes makes me want to steer clear from having another child. He's so bright and full of life and a ton of work. I wouldn't change it. All of the singing and filming comes secondary now and that's OK. I love to sing and I don't plan on stopping, but it just has to happen in a different way. With my child and husband in mind and coming first. It is very stressful trying to find a balance, I'm still looking for that balance. Who knows if it'll ever come. I guess I'm saying we as parents sacrifice and don't stop. But we have dreams of our own as well, you don't have to stop dreaming just attack them from a different angle.
Thank you for being my diary tonight.
I promise to never stop dreaming.
