Staying fit with games?
As of today I am 20 weeks and 2 days preggo! I feel great for the most part if I take my medicine for my Hyperemesis Gravidarum, otherwise it's constant nausea and vomiting all day. I have to admit I am barely starting to feel well enough to actually get active. Before becoming pregnant, I had a Zumba regimen and even taught classes occasionally but that lifestyle has died down significantly... until now.
My son has shown strong interest in our Xbox 360 Kinect and has been using it regularly, but not to play sit-down games with the controller. We have started our own little collection of Just Dance games and we love and enjoy them together. At first, it was a great way to keep him active and occupied while I nursed myself to health but now he asks me to join in and I'm always glad I do! Sometimes it's the only exercise I get. Let me tell you, I break quite the sweat!
Our favorite so far is Just Dance 2014, It includes the Ghostbusters theme song as well as tons of other jams. I even found a Zumba Rush Kinect game and another one with songs and dances from Grease! They are awesome! I love that these games have settings for intensity, I can adjust the settings to fit my needs in the state I'm in. It doesn't feel like exercise and it's very easy to stick with, especially with my little one always insisting that we go toe to toe. we have at least one dance party a day in my house, and that's fine by me.
